I was deployed away from my daughter for over 13 months. I left just before her 2nd birthday, and it devastated me. I spent my deployment contemplating a way that I would never have to leave her again. From my love for her, Bon AppéSweet was born.

My daughter fell in love with dessert while I was deployed. She went from no processed sugar to aunt's and uncle's sneaking her treats. Since she loved dessert so much, I decided that instead of taking away the foods that she had grown to love, I would simply make them healthier.

So I created desserts that were sweetened using fruit-based sweeteners, zero processed sugars, and zero sugar alcohols, and eventually, our date-sweetened chocolate bars were born. And looking out for the planet that my daughter will soon inherit, I made all of my chocolate 100% plant-based and dairy-free.
